Boxer Dog Pet

When you plan to purchase a Boxer Dog pet, you have to learn much about the breed: its typical personality, trainability, exercise needs, and keeping requirements. Boxers are not the easiest dogs to own, but a responsible and knowledgeable breeder will have no problems with keeping and training a dog of this breed.

The difference between a Boxer Dog pet and a show quality Boxer is very little, if you buy from an experienced and reputable breeder. Such breeders produce dogs with the only aim of improvement of the breed in general. They screen the breeding stock and match the pairs to produce the best possible puppies that are free from hereditary health disorders and fit closely the breed standard. There is no guarantee that a show potential puppy will develop into a show quality dog, because it depends much on the living conditions, training, and the amount of time spend with the puppy.

A Boxer Dog pet may be very attractive, with proper body proportions and coat coloration. A minor difference from the breed standard may become a disqualifying fault. For instance, white Boxers are disqualified by most breed standard, but white Boxer puppies make wonderful pets and family companions. A price difference between pet and show potential puppies may be great, but most breeders think that it should be minimal, because all puppies require the same investment of money and time.

Breed fanciers who have no money for a show quality dog can buy a pet Boxer, but careful attention should be paid at the choice of a breeder. Only those breeders who do all necessary health testing and aim at the improvement of the breed can be trusted. Those who produce only pet quality puppies cannot be trusted, because they don’t care about bringing their dogs to perfection. Buying a poorly bred puppy means spending much on its vet bills afterwards. The only way to avoid health problems in a puppy is to buy it from a responsible breeder who charges greater prices, but can guarantee a good health and stable personality of all puppies. Purchasing a Boxer Dog pet from a good breeder will save you money and time.
